Quiet as Your Shadow

(VERSE 1)

From grasslands to coastal fringes
And the seclusion afforded by the surrounding woodlands
Broken hinges / On kicked in doors in relative isolation
Does have an upside / Nurturing tones and fueling inspiration
Drawn from a place of self reflection and soothing noises
And accompanied by the sound of whispering voices
Reciting prayers to ward off evil spirits and demons
From glowing candlelight windows a hooded figure’s leaning
Over the balcony seeming enamored by your appearance
As as if your face and hair bears a striking resemblance
You breathe the luminous mist like a sigh of relief
With your every exhale reverberating into the trees
The dry leaves crackling beneath your feet are calming
And the beam from your flashlight shows where you’re walking
And the owls are just as elusive
As they are mysterious yet you can feel their eyes
They know your ghoulish

(HOOK)

You hear the wind in the trees rustle the leaves and that’ll
Mesh with the sound of your footsteps crunching on gravel
And the voices in your head that you struggle to battle
Start to unravel / Now their as quiet as your shadow
You hear the wind in the trees rustle the leaves and that’ll
Mesh with the sound of your footsteps crunching on gravel
And your the silhouetted figure on the path less traveled
Time is fragile / Nothing’s as quiet as your shadow

(VERSE 2)

It’s not uncommon to stumble upon an eerily silent building
After midnight with a window for climbing
Through observing the gloomy interior
Preying on your imagination and feeling weird at first
Search every corner and level then exit with incredible
Agility and a memory that’s unforgettable
Even the smallest amount of mysticism
Is invaluable / God knows it’s influenced my lyricism
That’s why I keep the room dimly lit while I’m writing
Cause the artist inside’s dying to let out what he’s trying
To share with the world weaving colorful tales
Despite their initial skepticism it never fails
To envelope their frames of mind overtime
Dwelling less and less on their penchant to minimize
Watching their headlights disappear into a haunting darkness
Breaking the cycle… they always thought was harmless
